AmeriCorps VISTA Benefits

AmeriCorps VISTA members at Youth Volunteer Corps have access to benefits along with a living allowance and end-of-service award.  Details for currently available positions are here.

Youth Volunteer Corps Benefits

While many benefits are accessed directly through the VISTA program, YVC also offers unique benefits to members who chose to serve with our organization.

Housing Reimbursement

A $200 housing reimbursement is paid directly to landlords/property management companies following each completed month of service. This payment is not a stipend, but helps supplement a member’s resources.

Mileage Reimbursement

VISTA members who travel 30+ miles one-way to the YVCHQ office are eligible for mileage reimbursement. Up to $150 reimbursement is paid directly to VISTA members following each completed month of service.

Career Development and Training

VISTA members are provided formal and informal opportunities to practice new skills, network with professionals in their fields of interest, and reflect for personal growth. Local workshop topics have included developing a personal brand; personal activism in the workplace; young leadership and inclusion. VISTAs at YVC are asked to name their goals and invited to craft an action plan to achieve them.

Vibrant, Mission-Driven Culture

Supportive.” “Productive.” “Collaborative.” “Energetic.” YVC employees come for a job but stay for the culture. Entrepreneurial thinking is encouraged to support innovation and creativity. A team attitude drives goal achievement. We celebrate birthdays, recognize victories, grab lunch together. Working here is fun.
